Earlier this summer, Dr. Howard Murad, in collaboration with USC Institute for Genetic Medicine (IGM) Art Gallery and Keck School of Medicine, hosted an art exhibit "Creating a Healthy Life" at the Manhattan Country Club. Here are highlights from the event.
Classical KUSC President, Brenda Barnes, opened the event with comments about art, music, and healing.
Senator Curren Price's Deputy on Joint Committee for the Arts, Lauren Pizer-Mains, explained the mission of the committee and their commitment to arts and healthcare, then presented Dr. Murad with a certificate to recognize him for his creative contributions to community.
Dr. Murad donated his "Dreams without Limits" painting above to the USC IGM Art Gallery.
Pictured with him, from left to right, include: Lauren Pizer-Mains, Los Angeles City Council Member Curren Price's deputy, Joint Committee for the Arts; Joanna Lee, USC IGM Art Gallery Intern Development Program chair; Richard Fukuhara, USC IGM Art Gallery event chair; Moses Mpanga, USC IGM AG Young Professionals Committee chair; and Lynn Crandall, director, USC IGM Art Gallery.
